What Is Energy Star^®?

It's the new standard which all of our new single detached homes meet.

ENERGY STAR® is an international program promoted here in Canada by Natural Resources Canada. It is designed to highlight products to consumers that are "best in class". A symbol often seen on appliances, ENERGY STAR® is now promoting new homes that perform far beyond a typical Ontario Building Code built home. As part of Reid's Heritage Homes' ongoing commitment to promote better building practices and raise environmental awareness, we were very proud to be one of the first home builders in Canada to build an entire community of ENERGY STAR® homes. Now building ENERGY STAR® as a standard on our detached units, qualified homes can be found in Guelph, Kitchener, London, Collingwood, Port Elgin and Kincardine. The decision to move to ENERGY STAR® as a standard was a major step for Reid's Heritage Homes' efforts in building more sustainable and environmentally responsible communities.

It's not only about forming the future of the home building industry, it's about taking responsibility for our environment including the use of our natural resources.
